Howdy Howdy all,
Okay so I went to Renaissance Fesitval with Torridgirl and some of her friends and can you say GREAT TIME WAS HAD BY ALL!?
Oh my Goodness! I had so much fun that I can't even begin to tell ya'll. Of course I am gonna try...
First of all everyone's costume was fabulous! I was a Fairy (of course
)...
Ain't I cute? This was taken at the top of the day of course... my wings are upside down cuz they kept bugging me! LOL
Check out Torridgirl ! How cool is that photo? We walked through one of the zillion gardens and happend upon this dragon bench and she HAD to take a photo... Ain't she cute?
The best act of the day was by The Other Brothers! They are hilarious and very talented jugglers.... here is a snippet...
Now they do this act where they get a volunteer to hold a carrot in their mouth and they juggle fire batons and a large knife between them and finally lob off the tip of the carrot! It is insane! Here is a snippet!
Now the other 2 girls that went would not let me photograph them because they felt silly. UGH SILLY!? What could be silly about a 34 year old woman dressed as a fairy? Nothing that's what! LOL!
I caught up with my friend Heather, she was working at a soap shop for the festival and was dressed as an elf. BTW she is in her barefeet and still she towers over me...(What a tall drink of water
) She is actually 6 foot 4 ya'll and quite a cutie... and has one Helluva knife collection to boot!!!!
Check out the after pic! I am losing one of the eyelashes but I am still smiling! We were there for about 7 hours I think...
Okay well that's all for now....my next adventure comes this weekend with the Bayou City Art Festival! Can't Wait!....how about some poetry...here goes... (a small gift, gift, gift)
Longing
If you could sit with me beside the sea to-day,
And whisper with me sweetest dreamings o'er and o'er;
I think I should not find the clouds so dim and gray,
And not so loud the waves complaining at the shore.
If you could sit with me upon the shore to-day,
And hold my hand in yours as in the days of old,
I think I should not mind the chill baptismal spray,
Nor find my hand and heart and all the world so cold.
If you could walk with me upon the strand to-day,
And tell me that my longing love had won your own,
I think all my sad thoughts would then be put away,
And I could give back laughter for the Ocean's moan!--Paul Laurence Dunbar
