Well, hello friends! Day one has been quite the test, quite the test indeed! I spent the last evening reading up on what to eat for breakfast if you want to have fuel for the rest of the day. I get everything ready, cuz I am Gung Ho for this transition business! I have the whole wheat bagel and the lowfat cream cheese at the ready for my breakfast. My salad and fruit and water are all packaged and ready for lunch and I have even got the turkey burgers thawing for dinner (which will be eaten at least 2 hours before I retire to bed). What could go wrong huh? Nothin' that's what! Until I realize that waking up after a day of exercising (a 3 mile brisk walk and 50 crunches)and healthy eating does not make you feel like a million bucks as swiftly as you might like. I feel more like that penny that has been melted into the ground with a piece of chewed bubble-gum (the gum of course has a hair in it). First I get up and think, ya know it's 5:30 in the morning, I can't eat this early! I will be fine, I never eat this early and I do alright through-out the day. No! It's not alright. By 8 am I want to gnaw off my own foot and bake it up for a little snack. Okay so what have we learned? The class recites together: Never skip breakfast, even if you have an early morning! Especially if you don't eat your regular amount of delicious and not at all nutritious fatty fatty foods which fill you up (rather quickly) with happiness, and cholesterol, and wet belches that re-introduce that fatty fatty dinner to your palate hours after you eat it! Very good class! I managed not to binge on my fatty fatty friends and kept my eyes on the prize (my eyes are now crossed however!). So goes the first day of the rest of my life. Since it is only 3:45 in the afternoon there may be an update to Day One! Thanks for your ear. Now if you'll excuse me I have to have a chat with a Goddess! Maybe I"ll ask how she has kept her figure for all of these millenia!
