I am inspired by an entry from a fellow blogger regarding emotional protection from those who might sap the emotional strength and leave the individual nearly empty and unable to perform the simplest of tasks. Victims of the emotional usurpers find themselves depressed and at times quick to anger in the face of many an issue. The problem with the emotional vampire is that usuually they are someone that is close to us and thus we don't want them to necessarily be out of our lives. What we want is for them to cultivate their own energy reserves and leave us to use ours. Here is something that might protect the well of energy from those who dip their buckets too many times for sustanance. As always you may modify this in anyway that speaks to you and your situation (Harm none, do what you will
). Today we will do a bit of candle magic. Lets gather our supplies:
1. Purple candle. And two white candles for balance.
2. Cedar and sage smudge stick or incense.
3. Pine or Rosemary essential oil (I prefer pine in this case but both work).
4. A clean space (preferably an altar) for working.
5. Fire (for lighting candles and incense or dancing naked around [hahahaha] ).
6. A fire safe holder for candle and incense.
OPTIONAL:
A Goddess figure place at the front center of the altar (Quan Yin is a goddess of peace, Isis is a goddess who represents female balance, and love in a pinch).
An offering of fruit or bread and wine place in offering bowls to the side of the Goddess figure (can be grape juice or my favorite spring water in a chalice).
As always enjoy a ritual bath. For this, use a soap with an essential oils or at the very least an all natual soap bar found at most any store these days. Do not dry yourself and try to work nude or in a loose fitting garment that is only for use in rituals. In your space the "altar" will have the 2 white candles at the left and right back of the altar (you are facing the altar. The purple candle should be rubbed with the essential oil that you choose and placed in the center. Dont use too much oil as it is flammable. Take a small amount of oil in your thumb and fingers and rub the purple candle from bottom to top (for banishing). Consecrate the space with the smudge and/or incense. Let the smoke cover the entire altar space and the candles. Light the candles ,the two white ones first and the purple one last. Visualize your self happy and balanced. Think of the person usurping your energy alone and surrounded by white light. They are strong and self sufficient, as are you. Recite aloud some affiramtion regarding your vision. Something to the effect of "Earth Mother, give me the strength to protect myself emotionally and offer your strength to those who are in need of your help". Do not name the person specifically if they have not given you permission to perform a spell in their name. Simply ask the universe or Mother Earth to help her children and a blessing may be bestowed on us entirely. Mention yourself and a blessing may be bestowed in your name. Ask for spiritual balance for yourself and the people of the universe. After your ritual, partake in the offering of fruit, bread and drink with the Goddess or with the universe and thank the Universe for her/his attention. You may feel a bit tingly (you can place a bit of salt in a bowl to spinkle for grounding). It should dissipate in about an hour. Find the emotional usurper and give them a hug and tell them that you love and appreciate them. This will also lessen the amount of energy they "take" and will boost the effects of the energy that you give freely in everyday life. Hope this helps and I will chat with again soon.
I am gonna do some research on Vegetarian living. I need to change my eating habits entirely. I am gonna visit drunkenoso's blog for some ideas I think. Hey, Divine, aren't you a vegetarian? Any information about getting started would be greatly appreciated.
