Hello all, Today the moon is in Leo as of 10-ish this morning and I have been feeling a bit grander than usual. You have to love that fire sign stuff. Anyway I was working with a new deck of tarot cards and wanted to clean them before use. So I decided to break out the herbs and get busy. Now when I work with herbs I like to mix them up a bit, especially for cleansing because you just can't beat variety for balance (a sentiment I find true for almost every aspect of living). There are so many herbs used for cleansing that it is almost imposible to go wrong when choosing. Just start with an herb you like in general do a little research and you are bound to find that it is just peachy for cleansing your everyday "craft-tools". For special tools you may want to use a special blend you create from scratch (Probably something with Sage as the primary).
If you dig (Get it, DIG? ) the herb in general it's probably gonna work out just fine, that being said I have decided to try and post some facts about a different herb daily or every other day.
For today I thought that I might discuss an herb called mugwort.
I don't really like this picture because it makes the herb look much rougher than it is but it was the best one I could find.
Okay this baby helps relax the mind and body (legally) when burned as incense. It can also be used to cleanse divination tools (tarot decks, mirrors, crystal gazing ball....ect). I used it a while ago as part of a sachet I made for Myclette . Her sachet had a number of different herbs but this one was the primary to which I integrated the others because her main request for the sachet was that it help with clarity. I don't care for the scent (kinda musky) but I love the texture(softer than feathers in some forms) and the effects. To mask the muskiness one could add a bit of peppermint which is also helpful for astral travel. For Myclette 's sachet I used ground cloves to mask the scent (to which she was allergic I think, Sorry girl
).
I will talk a bit about astral travel soon but for now this is an all around grand herb to start using in your "craft-work" if you don't already. And now I am off to do research for a fellow mindsayer. See ya soon
