Hello all! I am in better spirits today and wanted to blog to tell my friends just that. There are some relatives that we have not been able to locate yet but we are hoping for the best and preparing for the worst. I have had the occasion to visit some blogs today and I have seen some interesting entries. I replied to a few at the behest of a Sociology professor friend of mine and got a rude awakening. People do not want differing points of view on their blogs, rather they want blind acceptance. Which is fine I guess, of course it is a public blog community. The biggest shocker was how quickly the language degenerated into vulgarities and name calling, not very enlightening but they get an A plus for shock value I guess. Needless to say my friend got tons of info (none of the angry bloggers are regulars to my circle of contacts thankfully) They were mostly youngsters so I suppose I should have expected what I got but then that does a dis-service to the young people who are articulate. oh well, I learned a lot from reading and responding to the entries I read , and there were a lot of them. It took my mind off of my family members still unaccounted for although I was accussed of bragging because I mentioned on several occassions that I had been volunteering at the Astrodome. Well I am certainly going to continue to mention it because maybe someone will read it and decide to help also. I can't stop going to help here because I can't do anything to help my family left in New Orleans or wherever they might have been sent, so if it sounds like "bragging" please forgive me. I would like to say thanks to those who have been praying for those affected and leaving notes of confidence for me, it is much appreciated!!!! I saw some photo's on drunkenoso 's blog that are just lovely! That is a great help and the notes on lifeissue 's blog are enlightening and spiritual. I can't forget about the 80's song of the day on myclette 's blog and callmeroger is really getting me into the 90's groove. Thanks for the great blogs friends, they really keep the spirits up!
