Hey everybody!
I am feeling a heck of a lot better today. A few days ago me and my best bud Myclette went out to the Richmond Arms, I had a few too many beers and the fish and chips (which made me very, very, sick! YUCK! I had not had fried food in quite some time and will not be having it again in the fore seeable future). Today I am fit as a fiddle and back in the saddle so to speak. I only missed one day of exercise (Thursday) due to that crazy night out and I don't feel like I'm any worse for wear. I got right back at it yesterday and nearly jogged the entire time. I have to add weight training to my workouts now so as to stay tone as I lose weight and get into shape for marathoning.
I am told that the strength will help immensley with stamina and pacing so I am all for it. I can be a bit clumsy and can use all the balance I can get.
The vegetarian diet is coming right along for the most part. The only things that I have not given up are eggs, dairy, and salmon. I don't know if I will give them up later but for now I really have no plans to do so through the holiday season, then again who knows.
The one problem I have been having with all of this working out is the sore muscles. To deal with pain while my body aclimates I use a lovely, lovely bath soak with bath salts. Here is a favorite of mine:
mix
epsom salt (my favorite), sea salt or regular household salt
a few drops of essential oil ( I like sandalwood the best but for soreness use something like Pine oil or Cedar or Eucalyptus)
a few sprigs of fresh herbs like sage, mint (a fantastic herb for soaking aching muscles) or perhaphs some lavendar (fresh or dried).
Under very warm (not too hot of course) running water place mixture. Wait a few moments for salt to dissolve, then submerge yourself for 30 minutes. I like to put on cocoa-butter Oil afterwards (the oil helps keep skin moist throughout the day). You may certainly use whatever moisturizer you prefer, but nothing too overpowering if you plan to slip off to the land of dreams soon after your bath. I wouldn't use anything perfume-like. Try to choose a fragrance naturally occuring in nature like vanilla (I know you would rather not have vanilla myclette! Myclette prefers rose (blech!
)
Well I am off to visit the sandman and will keep you posted on my progress! Have a great Sunday and as always.....
