Just Playing Catch up
Howdy Howdy all

Okay so its been a minute since I last posted anything. I finally got settled into my new apartment and can finally sleep there (I had boxes everywhere and there was no place to sleep). We organized, organized and then organized again and now I have some essentials that I simply could eek by without...

1. My Tempur-Pedic mattress! This thing can get a little annoying but for an all around good night's sleep you cant beat it. Not to mention the fact that since I have had to put the mattress on the floor until I get my new bed (On Friday or Saturday) It has really done the job of keeping yours truly from being a bear in the mornings.

2. The laptop of doom. (You may remember me mentioning that my laptop has no "4" key so I have to press an eraser into the groove of where it used to be if I want to type a "4" or a "$" sign. Oh and also you cant use it without the cord which sucks because there is a short in the power switch so once you get that bastard set up you CAN NOT TOUCH THE CORD or everything goes to pot.) All this being said, I gotta admit that if I didn’t have that damn laptop I wouldn't be able to keep up with he presidential campaign shenanigans nor would I be able to entertain myself with email and keep up with assignments, pay my bills online and ON TIME (I say this because if I have to relied on to actually mail a payment, nothing would ever get paid. so thank goodness for online bill pay).

3. DVD player. Because I just moved and have not had the time to get cable or satellite television, I have been putting in dvds to pass the time, otherwise I would not get to have my "redbox" fix and that would not be conducive to a happy and stress free lifestyle. (For those who don’t know the redbox, it is this box that dispenses movies for a buck per night and it is crazy fantastic).

4. RAID! I am sorry but roaches freak me out! I had to stow my stuff in my mothers garage for about a month and unfortunately she lives near a LOT of trees so those big-ass tree roaches found their way into some of my boxes and had I not had the Raid I would have had a damn cardiac episode! My friends were nice enough to help me go through the boxes and eradicate any ones we found (only 2 but still). One friend in particular went through every box; show, bag and suitcase to seek them out and destroy any eggs (ew) found (and to release one wayward cricket to the wild).

5. Books! 'Nuff said!

6. CDs! See #5.

I should be mobile in the next few weeks (target date is the last weekend of the month). I know that it doesn’t seem like a big deal for a lot of folks but it is for me for a number of reasons that I will discuss in a later post. For now I just want to revel in the fantastic-ness of the my new little cave (I took pictures of the space before I moved all my crap in and will get them to you as soon as I find the damn camera).

(I work across the street and can now just walk home for lunch--sexy huh?). I work 6am til 3pm and then head to school campus (I am working for the literary magazine this school year so before class I have to get my treatments done and to an editor).

Now let's hope Hurricane Ike doesn't blow everything away including yours truly...

Check you all out later

Goddess Bless.
