First I wanna say Thanks Drunkenoso for telling me about the book I used to get started.
Okay, a little over a month ago I decided to make some life changes, big ones, for me that is. I have to say that I have for the most part done okay but i have had a few set-backs. Anyway one change was to reorder the way I treat my body. To that end I looked for a book recommended to me by a Drunkenoso that has been so totally helpful, I have even loaned it to a friend of mine, anyway... before this book I was eating lots of refined sugars and not nearly enough veggies and dont even get me started on the loads and loads of salty, salty potato chips (I LOVE potato chips!). Well I am proud to say that I no longer partake of the refined sugars (oh how I miss Shipley's doughnuts
). I am also eating veggies, fresh veggies folks, every single day, and have also cut out beef, chicken and pork. I am still eating turkey once per week and I have decided that I can't live without seafood (It is my favorite, favorite favorite). I am taking a multivitamin cocktail everyday which includes vitamin c, magnesium, selenium, vitamin E, and aloe vera (for digestion). I can't believe how much better I feel and I have actually lost weight without even noticing it (if you can believe that! ).
At first I started because I wanted to LOOK better but throughout this process I have found that my aim is now actually better health. I actually READ things before I put them in my basket at the grocery store instead of just heading straight to the little debbie's snack cakes! You would not believe what's in those things (stuff you can't pronounce). Don't get me wrong, I miss junk food.......A LOT but the benefits in the long run far out-weigh the temporary false happiness of an oatmeal pie (which has supprisingly little oatmeal!). I even chug down the 48-64 oz of water without whining (most days) and moaning! I will keep you posted on new developments in my progress and process which will be incorporating much more exercise. I walk 2 miles per day but I mostly stroll...I will step up to brisk next week, wish me luck!!!!
