Howdy, Howdy... well my Arizona vacation was a roaring success! First let me start by thanking DrunkenOso for being so super keen as to meet me at the bus stop in Junction on the way to Phoenix to give me vittles and a book to read on my journey and likewise for meeting me yet again at the ungodly hour of 4:30 am this morning to keep me company and give yet another book to read on the rest of my trip home. The tipsy bear is mighty cool and a cutie to boot (nice eyes)! Thanks again sir and the books will be returned to you in the same condition lent.
Here are my hosts, Arizona N and R (the dude is R the lady is N and they both RAWK as hosts)
This is downtown Chandler, AZ. They still had the gumdrop trees and the tumbleweed christmas treel lit when I got there on the 6th. Arizona is one dry place and oh how I missed humidity! On the other hand potato chips keep very well!
This is the view from the balcony of my friends apartment in Chandler, yep that's right the only green to be had for miles was in the golf course situated outside the back door!
Chandler was really nice looking for the most part but it kinda gave off a kind of stepford feel if ya know what I mean. I thought that it would be the oddest little town I would encounter during my stay but I hadn't counted on the city of Sedona. Talk about queer (not homosexual, but the actual meaning of the word..."odd"). Sedona will be my next post but for now how about a poem....here goes.....
Sonnets From The Portuguese,14
If thou must love me, let it be for nought
Except for love's sake only. Do not say
'I love her for her smile—her look—her way
Of speaking gently,—for a trick of thought
That falls in well with mine, and certes brought
A sense of pleasant ease on such a day'—
For these things in themselves, Belovèd, may
Be changed, or change for thee,—and love, so wrought,
May be unwrought so. Neither love me for
Thine own dear pity's wiping my cheeks dry,—
A creature might forget to weep, who bore
Thy comfort long, and lose thy love thereby!
But love me for love's sake, that evermore
Thou mayst love on, through love's eternity.---Elizabeth Barrett Browning
